Week of March 2-6:
FACT FLUENCY ASSESSMENT: Students will solve addition and subtraction facts using Doubles +/- 1, 2 MATH END OF GRADING PERIOD ASSESSMENT: Students will need to have a good understanding of adding 3 numbers (using doubles and making 10), fact families and problem solving. Click HERE to visit our math page to see how each of these concepts was taught in class! WRITING EDITING REVIEW: Students will look for mistakes within sentences. They will edit the mistakes and rewrite each sentence correctly remembering what a complete sentence needs. SNAP WORD ASSESSMENTS: Students will have a SNAP Word List Assessment and a SNAP Word Check over the 23 Light Blue SNAP Words from Unit 4. On the SNAP Word List Assessment they will need to be able to recognize and read all 23 words quickly. On the SNAP Word Check students will be asked to spell 13 of the words correctly on the front side and then place the other 10 words in the correct sentence on the back side. Please review these words with your child so they are prepared for their upcoming assessments! These words were sent home at the beginning of the grading period. SOIL ASSESSMENT: After learning about Rocks, Minerals, and Soil this week in science, students will be assessed over what they have learned. Students are expected to complete 2 boxes (reading and one other choice) on the pink homework menu each week night.
Homework Menus are due on March 5th. *New Grading Policy*Starting in the 2nd semester, we will begin to hold the students more accountable for the product/assignment they turn in. The students are developmentally ready to apply what they have been learning in all subject areas. We will deduct points for the following in all subject areas…
-Misused Capitals (up to 5 points) -Capitals Not Used At The Start Of A Sentence (up to 5 points) -Letter Reversals (up to 5 points) -Number Reversals (up to 5 points) -SNAP Words Spelled Incorrectly (up to 5 points) (No more than 10 points will be deducted per assignment due to errors listed above.) |
