KOALAS NEED YOUR HELP!
Student Council and Read Deed Run are working together to help save the koalas in Australia that were affected by the severe brush fires. This cause is so dear to our hearts since OKE’s theme is The Outback and the Koala is our school mascot! We would love your help if you are interested. You can support this project by donating money (cash) towards helping the aid of the injured Koalas. All you need to do is send your donation to school with your child in a sealed envelope labeled “Save The Koalas”. Thank you so much for your support. We look forward to making a difference!

Love and Logic
"Kids learn to develop good decision-making skills by making small mistakes and experiencing the natural or logical consequences."
“Love and Logic teaches adults how to be strict and caring at the same time"
Love and Logic is a discipline and problem solving system that we use here at OKE to help make teaching and learning fun and rewarding instead of chaotic and stressful. Each month, we will have a message, like the ones above, that encompasses the spirit of the love and logic program, and makes it easy to incorporate this thinking into every-day interactions with our students.
Click the buttons below for more information on the love and logic program, how it is used in Katy ISD, and how to incorporate the strategies at home:

Your child is allowed to bring a dry, healthy, and nut-free snack to school each day! Please pack snacks in a bag or container separate from their lunch box. Students may also bring a water bottle with a spill-free lid to school. We go outside each day for Brain Break and Recess. It is so hot outside, so a cold refreshing drink is so important to keep them hydrated! Here are some helpful links for information:
